Description
A simple pulao using coriander leaves and spices.

1 bunch | Coriander leaves |
1 inch | Ginger |
3 clove | Garlic |
3 nos | Green chilli |
1 T | Cumin seeds |
1 T | Coconut flakes |
Ingredients-2 | |

1 cup | Basmati or sona masoori rice |
2 cup | Water |
1 no | Onion finely chopped |
1 no | Tomato fnely chopped |
1 no | Potato cubed |
1 inch | Cinnamon |
2 nos | Cardamom |
2 nos | Cloves |
1 tsp | Salt or as per taste |
2 T | Oil |
Instructions
- Wash the rice and soak it for 10 minutes.
- Grind all the ingredients from group 1 to a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, temper cinnamon,cloves and cardamom.
- Add in the onions and fry them till golden brown.
- Next add the chopped tomatoes and fry them for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the potatoes and continue frying for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Now add the ground paste and cook for another 5 minutes till the raw smell disappears.
- Add rice along with water and salt. Cook for 2 whistles on medium flame.
- Serve hot. Tastes great with raita and potato chips.
Notes
Coriander leaves can also be substituted with mint leaves.
