10 tsp | Mustard oil |
2 nos | Large onions -chopped finely or grated |
2 tbsp | Ginger paste |
2 tbsp | Garlic paste |
1 tsp | Haldi powder |
2 tsp | Salt |
2 tsp | Sugar |
2 tsp | Red chilli powder(kashmiri) |
1 cup | Curd – well beaten |
4 tsp | Lemon juice |
Instructions
Ingredients:
1 Chicken(800 gms) – cut into 12 pieces
10 tsp Mustard oil
2 large onions – chopped finely or grated
2 tbsp ginger paste
2 tbsp garlic paste
1 tsp haldi powder
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp red chilli powder(kashmiri)
1 cup curd – well beaten
4 tbsp lemon juice
Some fresh dhania leaves for garnishing
Collect Together:
8-10 Laung(cloves)
5-6 Chhoti Illachi(green cardamoms)
1 tsp Shah Jeera(Black cumin)
1 tsp Methi dhana(fenugreek seeds)
1/2 tsp Kalaunji(onion seeds)
2 tsp Rai(mustard seeds)
a pinch of hing(asafoetida)
5-6 whole,dry red chillies
Method:
Heat Mustard oil till it smokes.Remove from fire and cool.Heat oil again and all the collected spices – cloves,cardamoms,jeera,methi seeds,kalaunji,rai ,hing and dry red chillies.Fry for 1/2 minute till methi dhana turns golden.
Add onions and fry till golden brown .Add ginger and garlic paste .Fry for 1-2 minutes.Add Chicken,salt,haldi powder,sugar and red chilli powder.fry for3-4 minutes on high flame.
Add well beaten curd.Keep stirring till it boils.Cook,stirring all the time for another 2 minutes.Cover,lower heat and cook for 12-15 minutes or till chicken turns tender.
Add Lemon Juice.Give 1-2 boils .Add 1/2 cup of water if u like and give 2-3 boils.
Serve Hot ,garnished with fresh dhania.
