Fish puttu (hash) is a popular dish from Kerala mostly made with Shark and King fish along with scrambled eggs. Its also equally popular in Tamil Nadu too, but made only with sharks. In US, its quite hard to get Shark, so had to adapt with whats available. To my surprise, it turned out great with few varieties like Cod, Tilapia, Tuna and King fish.

Fish cooked in tamarind coconut gravy. Normally in South India, any fish kuzhambu is simmered in tamarind sauce, with Kerala being an exception. They add little bit of sweetness to their preparation, by cooking them with coconut milk. Back in India a good friend of mine use to make this gravy and happened to learn this dish from her. Original recipe includes lemon juice, for which I substituted with tomatoes. Just to suit my taste I've included seasonings like cumin and fennel seeds, which are purely optional.

This is a delicious mutton curry within 20 minutes.
A great street side food famous in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Flaky, fluffy, soft circular breads made with plain flour or Maida. First of all, this item literally takes a bath in oil, so people who are health consicous better avoid making this dish. The other thing is , it takes atleast a couple hours to make these parottas, most of which is kneading the dough, beating and shaping. (Parota / Layer Parotta / Layer Parota/ Layer Paratha / Kerala Parotta / Flaky Parotta )
