Description
Beetroot jam-This jam is one of my family's favorite recipe. This recipe is passed to me from my MIL. Hope you would like this simple and yummy veggie jam on ur toast.
Ingredients | |

3 nos | Beetroot (large) |
¾ cup | Sugar (can increase or decrease depending on your taste). |
Water (as per need) |
Instructions
1.peel the skin off from beetroot ,wash it thoroughly and cut into bite size pieces
2.pour very little amount of water and pressure cook it until u hear 2 hiss
3,once it gets cooled grind it in a blender or mixie into fine paste
4.in heavy bottomed pan(i used 5 litre cooker) pour the above paste and add sugar ,allow it to boil in medium flame
5.close it with a lid partially and stir it occasionally to avoid sticking to the bottom
6.when the jam begins to get thick reduce the heat to low and stir it continously for few more minutes
7.switch off the stove and allow it cool
8.store it in a dry container
9.Relish the jam with bread toast
Notes
I usually refrigerate the jam and will take out only when i need it, and use it within 10 days.
